The Power of Symbolism
When practicing Feng Shui in your home and personal spaces with the intention of creating change in your life, there are both literal and symbolic adjustments. Adjustments such as moving your desk & bed to be in power position, clearing your clutter, and choosing furniture that is conducive for the free flow of positive chi (energy) are all examples of the literal. I would argue that symbolic adjustments used in one’s life are just as powerful or even more so than the literal. Let’s talk about why that might be!
Symbols speak to our subconsciousness. Our subconscious mind is constantly evaluating our environments… not to mention it’s estimated that the subconscious mind controls 90-95% of our actions and beliefs. You have the ability to speak directly to your subconscious mind through symbolism, reminding it of what you’re working towards and how to align with those goals.
Symbolism is an anchor to our intentions. When you take an inspired action such as hanging wall art that symbolizes a feeling you desire to experience or a goal you’re wanting to achieve, you are taking a step in the right direction of having the experience.
In Feng Shui & The Law of Attraction, “like attracts like”. Bringing in symbols of what you want to attract in your life helps draw that energy into your space and in return, to you!
Feng Shui can be described as the language of energy, and symbols would be its vocabulary. When used intentionally, symbolism can not only curate a beautiful space but help you to align with your goals and the change you’re wanting to experience.
